What Your BMI Result Means
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a simple calculation using a person's height and weight. The formula is $BMI = kg/m^2$ where $kg$ is a person's weight in kilograms and $m^2$ is their height in metres squared.
A high BMI can indicate high body fatness, while a low BMI can indicate too little body fatness. While BMI is a useful screening tool, it does not directly measure body fat or account for muscle mass, bone density, or overall body composition. It is best used as a general guide alongside other health assessments.
